Új elismerés a kiemelkedő utánpótlás-sakkeredményekért – megalapították a Tripla Crown díjat

Mészáros-Csonka Dávid (U14) rendkívüli teljesítményt ért el a 2025/2026-os tanévben: megnyerte a Diákolimpia országos döntőjét, a Magyar Korcsoportos Bajnokságot, valamint a Magyar Korcsoportos Rapidbajnokságot is. A három rangos versenyen aratott győzelmének elismerésére a Magyar Sakkszövetség két bizottsága új díjat hozott létre Tripla Crown (Három korona) néven.

A kezdeményezés a Magyar Sakkszövetség Edzőbizottságának közreműködésével indult.

A kezdeményezés megvalósításához külső támogatók is csatlakoztak.

A díj átadására a miskolci Ifjúsági Csapatbajnokság megnyitóján került sor, ahol Mészáros-Csonka Dávid átvehette a három országos verseny megnyeréséért járó elismerést.

A Tripla Crown célja, hogy külön figyelmet kapjanak azok a fiatal sakkozók, akik egy tanéven belül mindhárom kiemelt hazai versenyen győzni tudnak. A kezdeményezés egyúttal a hazai utánpótlássakk kiemelkedő teljesítményeinek elismerését és a fiatalok motivációjának erősítését is szolgálja.

A díj létrejötte jól példázza, hogy a magyar sakktársadalom összefogásával és a támogatók közreműködésével újabb lehetőségek teremthetők a fiatal tehetségek elismerésére.

A New Award Celebrating Outstanding Youth Chess Achievements: The Tripla Crown

Mészáros-Csonka Dávid (U14) achieved an exceptional result during the 2025/2026 academic year, winning three major Hungarian chess competitions: the National Student Chess Olympiad Finals, the Hungarian Youth Chess Championship, and the Hungarian Youth Rapid Chess Championship. To recognise this remarkable achievement, two committees of the Hungarian Chess Federation have established a new award, the Tripla Crown (Triple Crown).

The initiative was launched with the involvement of Péter Gál, a member of the Hungarian Chess Federation’s Coaches Committee. He contacted Dr Zoltán Polyánszky, President of the Federation, and Csaba Horváth, Chair of the Youth Committee, to discuss an appropriate way to recognise this outstanding performance. The proposal received their support, and the Tripla Crown award was subsequently established for the 2025/2026 academic year through the cooperation of the Youth Committee and the Coaching Strategy Committee.

The initiative also received support from industry partners. DGT and Chessable both enthusiastically backed the project, jointly contributing gifts worth more than HUF 200,000 towards the award. Both companies are open to continuing their cooperation with the initiative in the future, allowing the Tripla Crown to continue inspiring young chess players to strive for victory in all three prestigious national competitions.

The award was presented at the opening ceremony of the Hungarian Youth Team Chess Championship in Miskolc, where Mészáros-Csonka Dávid received the recognition for his outstanding achievement.

The aim of the Tripla Crown is to recognise young players who manage to win all three major Hungarian competitions within a single academic year. The initiative also seeks to celebrate excellence in Hungarian youth chess and encourage young players to continue developing their skills and pursuing ambitious goals.

The establishment of the award demonstrates how cooperation within the Hungarian chess community, together with the support of committed partners, can create new opportunities to recognise and encourage talented young players.
